Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Awareness Level 2 (QCF)
This Level 2 Award in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Awareness QCF is suitable for those who want to improve their understanding of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), whether for professional or personal reasons. It will be particularly relevant for teaching assistants and learning support staff with little or no prior knowledge of ADHD.
The qualification contains one mandatory unit which covers characteristics, causes, treatments and assessment methods as well as ways to support individuals with ADHD and sources of further relevant information.
Learners can progress from this qualification to the Level 3 Award in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and/or the Level 3 Award in Supporting Learners with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, where individuals will learn to apply their understanding of ADHD to support learners in practice. Learners could also move on to broader learning support qualifications such as a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

The approved age range for these qualifications is 16-18 and 19+ for the Level 2 and 3 Awards in AHD Awareness and 18+ for the Level 3 Award in Supporting Learners with ADHD.The approved age range for this qualification is 18+
There is no requirement for learners to have achieved prior qualifications.
The ADHD Awareness qualifications provide progression through the suite from Level 2 to Level 3. The Level 3 qualifications may also prepare learners to move on to broader learning support qualifications such as a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or to Level 4 qualifications such as the Gateway Qualifications Level 4 Certificate in Supporting the Learning of Learners with Special Educational Needs and Disability.
